Short BIO

I am a Ph.D. student at the Laboratory of Microbial Processes and Biodiversity. I ended my undergraduate at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) in 2015 and joined the lab to do a Master's (2016-2018) and Ph.D. (2018-2022). During this time, I have studied the spatial structure of bacterioplankton biodiversity and spatiotemporal processes that guide their metacommunity assembly. I also participated in the creation and maintenance of a Microbial Observatory. My skills include molecular and bioinformatic techniques necessary to assign prokaryotic and eukaryotic taxonomy from environmental DNA (eDNA) samples, big data curating and management, and biostatistics using R-software.

Role in AtlantECO

In AtlantECO, I am involved in adapting protocols for coordinated sampling efforts, namely the Ocean Sampling Day, and preparing contents for scientific dissemination and outreach.
