Short BIO

I am a biologist with a PhD in biological oceanography and in a PostDoc position at the University of São Paulo (Brazil). I am interested in understanding the organization of zooplankton communities and their relationships with environmental conditions.

My research also involves studying the role of zooplankton distribution in biological carbon pumps in the Western South Atlantic.

Role in AtlantECO

I am working on the compilation and analysis of a huge plankton image dataset (uploaded on EcoTaxa - https://ecotaxa.obs-vlfr.fr/) created from surveys performed in the Atlantic Ocean.

My current research topic is to study the influence of seamounts and eddy formation on zooplankton distribution and carbon flux in the Western South Atlantic. I am analyzing an image dataset obtained in situ by using the Underwater Vision Profiler.

I am contributing to Work Package 2 on the Subtasks 2.2.2 and 2.2.5.
